Well, I'm no Kingdom Hearts expert by any means, but if I had to guess..

1. Sora is like 14.
2. The whole 'World Ending' theme doesn't sprout love much (even if Hollywood wants us to think so).
3. Some things are more important than 'going out' ^_^

I'd guess the whole Disney thing could have been a factor before, but not lately. Disney seems to be up for anything with their younger audience anymore.
